Best Cafes for Working in Karachi: Where WiFi Actually Works (2026)

Tired of slow internet and hunting for power outlets? Here is a curated list of the most work-friendly cafes in Karachi with reliable WiFi, power plugs, and comfortable seating.

I've tried working from maybe 30 different cafes in Karachi over the past year. Some were great, some kicked me out after an hour, and one place had WiFi so slow I could've sent my files via carrier pigeon faster.

Here's the thing about working from cafes in Karachi: most places say they have WiFi but half of them mean "WiFi that connects but doesn't actually load anything." And even fewer understand that someone sitting with a laptop for three hours is a paying customer, not a space-waster.

After getting quietly judged by enough waiters and dealing with enough "WiFi is down today" excuses, I figured out which cafes actually work for remote work.

What Makes a Cafe Work-Friendly

Before we get into specific places, here's what separates a cafe you can actually work from versus one that just tolerates laptops.

  • WiFi that actually works: Not just available. Actually fast enough to join video calls, upload files, load Google Docs without freezing. Should be at least 10-15 Mbps download.
  • Power outlets: I don't care how aesthetic your cafe is. If I can't plug in my laptop, I can't stay longer than 90 minutes. Work-friendly cafes have outlets at most tables or at least accessible wall plugs.
  • Comfortable seating: Those Instagram-worthy wooden stools? Terrible for working. You need back support. Cushioned chairs or booths are ideal.
  • Reasonable noise level: Coffee shop background noise is fine. Screaming kids and loud music is not. You should be able to take a call without shouting.
  • Doesn't rush you: The unspoken agreement is you buy something every 1.5-2 hours. If the staff starts hovering after 45 minutes, it's not work-friendly.

1. The Second Floor (T2F) — Clifton

  • WiFi: Excellent (20+ Mbps consistently)
  • Power outlets: Every table
  • Cost: PKR 300-500 (coffee + snack)
  • Area: Clifton

This is the gold standard for working cafes in Karachi. T2F was literally designed for people to work, have meetings, attend events.

The WiFi is fast and stable. I've done video calls here without issues. The password is written on a chalkboard, no need to ask staff repeatedly. Multiple seating options: desks if you need to spread out work, sofas if you're just on your laptop, a whole upstairs area that's usually quieter.

The cafe menu is decent. Coffee is good, sandwiches are fine, brownies are excellent. Prices are reasonable for what you're getting (workspace + food).

Best for: Freelancers, remote workers, students. Anyone who needs to work for 3+ hours.

2. Espresso — Multiple Locations

  • WiFi: Good (15 Mbps average)
  • Power outlets: Most tables (ask staff)
  • Cost: PKR 400-600 per person
  • Best for: Quick 1-2 hour work sessions & meeting clients.

Espresso is the reliable chain option. You know what you're getting. Decent coffee, okay food, consistent WiFi. The DHA and Clifton locations are better for working than the Dolmen Mall ones.

WiFi is usually stable. Seating varies by location but generally comfortable enough for 2-3 hours. The booths are best if you can get one. Coffee quality is consistent. The iced latte is my go-to.

3. Mocca — Zamzama

  • WiFi: Excellent (20+ Mbps)
  • Seating: Mix of comfortable and decorative
  • Cost: PKR 500-700 per person
  • Location: Zamzama (Clifton)

Mocca has fast WiFi and the coffee is genuinely good. The atmosphere is more upscale-casual. You're not going to get weird looks for working here. Half the people are on laptops anyway. Seating is hit or miss. The corner tables near the windows are perfect for working.

Main issue: limited outlets. arrive early to grab a table near one. Also gets quite loud during lunch (1-3 PM) and dinner (7-9 PM). Not ideal for calls during those times.

4. Dilpasand — Multiple Locations

  • WiFi: Decent (10-12 Mbps, sometimes drops)
  • Cost: PKR 200-400 per person
  • Best for: Budget-conscious workers, quick tasks.

Hear me out on Dilpasand. It's not trendy, but it works surprisingly well for getting actual work done. The Clifton location (older one) is perfect for focused work. It's quiet, people leave you alone, and the coffee is cheap.

Almost no power outlets. This is a 2-hour maximum situation unless your laptop has amazing battery. But nobody bothers you. The vibe is "mind your own business."

5. Xanders — DHA

  • WiFi: Excellent (20+ Mbps)
  • Cost: PKR 600-900 per person
  • Location: DHA

Xanders is expensive but it's one of the best working cafes in Karachi. The WiFi is fast, outlets are plentiful, and the seating is actually designed for comfort. Staff doesn't rush you; I've sat for 4 hours and nobody gave me dirty looks.

Best for: Client meetings or serious work days when the budget isn't an issue.
